While reporting live, one of The Story Ship’s crew, Sarah, is kidnapped by aliens and trapped on a spaceship bound for the outer regions of our solar system!  Audience volunteers must quickly form a Rescue Team and use math, magic, dance, and music to get her back. 

 

The audience helps to unravel musical messages from the aliens using mathematics, sound science and a Chladni Plate. With the Chladni Plate, the kids actually see sound! This device creates visual patterns of sound as sand moves over a vibrating metal plate. Volunteers help to discover a code that allows us to communicate with the aliens.

The musical Alien communications give us clues about the Alien’s location and how to rescue Sarah. This show is highly interactive with tons of audience participation. Every minute to two minutes the kids are solving puzzles and math problems, assisting magic tricks, singing, talking to video projected characters, dancing, and navigating the rescue rocket through an interactive game.
